Metro Arts se asocia con Americans for the Arts (AFTA) para recibir pasantes de Diversity in Arts Leadership (DIAL), una experiencia de desarrollo profesional de verano diseñada parapromover la equidad culturalen el campo de la gestión artística. El programa busca candidatos universitarios de pregrado con antecedentes históricamente subrepresentados en el liderazgo artístico. Los pasantes se emparejan con organizaciones artísticas locales sin fines de lucro y participan en proyectos administrativos pagados que apoyarán a la organización y ampliarán las habilidades y el conocimiento del pasante.

Goals of this program:

  1. Provide undergraduate interns with direct work experience in the arts sector.

  2. Facilitate connection between arts administrators and professionals at different stages in their careers.

  3. Support the capacity of local arts organizations.

  4. Increase the visibility and connectivity of arts organizations and artists in Nashville.

For the 2024-2025 academic year, Metro Arts expects to award seven internships for the Spring semester* for 14 weeks of paid work experience at Nashville-based arts organizations. Interns will each receive $3,750 to work 8-10 hours per week during the 14-week internship period. Interns will also participate in approximately 5 hours of one-on-one mentoring with an arts professional, 4 professional development workshops, and optional arts and culture experiences around Nashville.

Coffee/Talk is our monthly community gathering where artists, neighbors, and those looking to get involved in the Nashville arts scene can connect and share. Learn about upcoming projects and opportunities, and meet the people creating exciting new art in Nashville.
 

The second of the two events for January 2025 Coffee Talk with Metro Arts will be Wednesday, January 22, 2025, from 9:30–11:00 a.m. Continuing to expand the Coffee/Talk program with venues and art, we are co—hosting this round with Metro Parks Visual Arts Centennial Art Center, in Centennial Park, 301 25th Ave North, Nashville, TN 37203
 

In addition to the Centennial Art Center staff introducing their gallery and classroom space, as well as Metro Parks Visual Arts programs, they will have their Studio Manager and ceramic artist Le Dillingham give an artist talk. Le’s work will be on view in the gallery along with potter Kristen Parke and the Calligrapher’s Guild.
 

There is free parking throughout Centennial Park. Centennial Art Center’s parking lot has ample space.

Coffee and light refreshments will be provided.

Las artes están siendo recortadas de los presupuestos estatales en todo Estados Unidos. En Tennessee, tenemos la suerte de contar con una fuente adicional de financiación. Los ingresos adicionales que recibimos deventa de matrículas especiales y personalizadasha sido clave para financiar las artes en Tennessee. Más del 70 % del dinero utilizado para financiar las más de 800 subvenciones de la Comisión de Artes de Tennessee el año pasado provino de la venta de estas placas especiales.
